ABOUT US
Suffolk All Stars started as the Erin-Lea Murphy School of Dance in 2003, offering classes in Ballet, Tap and Modern dance in Saxmundham. In 2005 the school expanded to include classes in Halesworth after the retirement of Kay Goddard, Erin's childhood teacher, and mentor. The dance school quickly expanded from having classes one night a week, to six days a week, with new genres being added to the timetable, successful ISTD examinations and the introduction of festivals, competitions and shows.
Suffolk All Stars now have weekly classes for 18 months to 18 year olds in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, Jazz, Tap, Disco, Freestyle, Street Dance, Rock n Roll, Contemporary, Allstar Cheer, Acro and Musical Theatre. Classes are taught in fully sprung floored dance studios, that are mirrored with ballet barres, at The Cut in Halesworth and SAS HQ in Saxmundham. We also hold classes at the spacious Sizewell Sports and Social Club.
Suffolk All Stars is a member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), the United Dance Organisation (UDO), the Acro Dance Teachers Association (ADTA), and Acrobatic Arts. Through Building from the Ground Up - Allstar Cheer (BGU) we are qualified to teach Allstar Cheer to Level Two. We hold licenses with Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Zumba, Strong Nation, Circl Mobility and Zumbini and we are affiliated with the Rosina Andrews Technique.
Our teachers are highly qualified, have current first aid training, are DBS checked, Chaperone Licences, Child Protection training, and adhere to our risk assessments and policies.
In 2005 Adult classes were incorporated with Adult Dancercise and Adult Tap. We now have over 15 adult classes running each week with Phoenix Fitness.
