Erin-Lea Murphy School of Dance is pleased to offer dance classes for all ages and abilities.  

Classes start at 18 months with a "Dance With Me" programme - Zumbini.

Classes for 3 years - 18 years follow the ISTD graded and medal test syllabus. 


Dance is an excellent recreation for so many people for so many individual reasons.  
Dance is a fun, enjoyable way to keep fit where you can make new friends and switch off from the outside world.  
It also builds self-confidence and self-esteem which benefits 
Boys and Girls / Men and Women not only in the dance class but in everyday life.  
We boast a 100% pass rate when entering candidates for examinations as well as offering children the opportunity to take part in dance festivals and competitions, summer schools, theatre trips, foreign exchange trips and regular performances.

Erin founded the Erin-Lea Murphy School of Dance in 2003 and as principal of the school Erin takes most of the classes in Halesworth and Saxmunundham.
Erin-Lea Murphy started her own dance training in the Saxmundham and Halesworth areas with the Kay Goddard School of Dance and later also joining the Coral Stebbings School of Theatre Dance.  As well as entering examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, competing at Dance Festivals and performing at a variety of functions and venues Erin was awarded a place by the Suffolk County Council and Dance East on the Suffolk Scholarship Scheme for Ballet at 11yrs old and through annual auditions kept a place on the scheme until she was 18.  Erin was also selected for a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Dance Summer School.  
Erin gained her BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts with Honours before furthering her Dance Training at eighteen at The Centre, Performing Arts College.  Erin was the first pupil to complete the three year training programme in two years as an accelerated pupil and trained not only in Dance, but all aspects of the performing arts including Drama and Singing. 
Erin gained her ISTD Advanced 2 exams and Associate Teaching qualifications in ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern all with A grades.
Since leaving college in 2003 Erin has worked alongside her former dance teacher - Kay Goddard and with her help and guidance started her own school in Saxmundham.  Kay Goddard has since retired from her own school and Erin runs the Halesworth classes as part of the Erin-Lea Murphy School of Dance.  Erin has furthered her teaching and now also trained in Disco Freestyle, Street Dance and Acro.
Erins pupils have been entered for exams with the ISTD in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Disco Freestyle and Street Dance, as well as having chances to perform in shows at Leiston Film Theatre, Seckford Theatre, Snape Maltings, Her Majesty's Theatre, London, Theatre Am Park, Eitorf, Germany and Disneyland Paris, France.  Pupils get the chance to compete in Dance festivals and DFR and Rock n Roll competitions as well as perform regularly in showcases and school shows.
Erin also worked at the Debbie Millar School of Dance for over nine years where she coached children for I.S.T.D exams, from Primary to Advanced Two and choreographed routines for the DMSD annual show and for routines that were performed in Poland and Disneyland Paris. Erin worked as Choreographer for John Warwick Theatrical in 2008 and through this choreographed the Summer and Winter Shows in Clacton-on-Sea in 2008.
Erin regularly teaches within local Primary and High Schools delivering dance and fitness as part of the schools P.E and Dance Enrichment courses.
